since i still haven't found my flash drive imma put up a list of some of my heroes.
for all i know, maybe i'd have something in common with whoever's reading this right now.
Angus Young
EVH
Joe Satriani
Lee asher
Paul Gilbert
Steve Brown
Wayne Houchin
anybody who's awesome with photoshop
some of my friends are my heroes, too.
well, you might ask, what is my definition of a hero? well, my heroes are people i want to slay.
got the idea from this forum post below (posted at the CT forums):
Here's a thought...
In ancient Greek literature, the concept of the archetype is very common.
There are stories about the evil archetype, stories about the warrior archetypes, just about anything you can think of really. I was always fascinated with this genre of writing.
I picture myself as an archetype.
One of the biggest lessons I took from this literature was the idea of slaying the hero.
Possibly you might recognize this concept when I refer to it as the student surpassing the teacher.
This is a right of passage.
This happens in EVERY culture. It has been happening since the dawn of time.
Its importance is paramount.
I remember the day my father told me he couldn't teach me anymore sleight of hand because I had gained a greater understanding of it than he.
Right there and then, I had slayed one of my heroes.
Actually, I slayed my biggest hero. The world was now mine.
Do you have any heroes?
Do you have a burning desire to meet your heroes, and then slay them? (This is a figure of speech - just to clarify for all you stalkers.)
This holds true for things other than magic.
A sport you are active in or an instrument you play, could expose you to someone you might hold in a high regard.
I await all your responses!
Lee Asher
Ps. I still have heroes that need slaying. The beautiful part is they will never be slayed - and thus they will remain heroes.
